Though it was a love story, the role of the overprotective brother and his love for his younger sister played a major role in the film. Most of the brothers, especially the elder ones, tend to be protective of their sisters and this was portrayed quite well by Arbaaz Khan’s character in the film.

Based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, a farmer who was wrongfully convicted in Pakistan and died after a fatal assault inside the jail, the movie Sarbjit focuses on his sister Dalbir Kaur’s fight against the system to prove his innocence. Dalbir fought against the law and many middlemen in between. The fierceness of a sister’s love for her brother and crossing limits for her blood is the best thing in this movie.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Another film in this list whose central interests doesn’t revolve around a brother-sister relationship. But, the realistic portrayal of sibling bickering, the sweet and bitter love between Genelia D’Souza’s character and her brother won everyone’s hearts. Although they mostly fought and troubled each other but at the end, her brother actually cared for her and loved her from deep down the heart.
