The Slam To Body Shame: “Fanney Khan”

Fanney Khan is backed by a stellar cast including Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao and it’s going to be release tomorrow, August 3. The movie is directed by Atul Manjrekar and actor Pihu Sand who plays Kapoor’s daughter Lata in the musical drama. It’s a debut film of the director Atul Manjrekar and Pihu Sand. Now coming to the Movie, Fanney khan tells the story of a young girl who dreams of becoming a star performer while battling body shaming and Anil Kapoor who played the role of her Father in the movie is ready to go to any length to make his daughter’s dream of becoming a singer come true.


However, For this Anil is not also afraid to kidnap a pop star (Aishwarya Rai) with the help of his friend (Rajkummar Rao) that things take a comic turn when the kidnapping goes wrong. Now, it will be interesting to see whether her father is able to see his daughter as a singing star or not. Thus, it will be known only on August 3.

Aishwarya Rai in an interview said about the movie Fanney khan that “I decided to do this film because there are an immense sweetness and a lightheartedness in the script; it’s wonderfully written”. Aishwarya also says a vital message that the movie sends out is that people must believe in themselves and the magic that they have within.


Later, Anil Kapoor 61 year-old actor also shared the reasons why people should watch Fanney Khan this Weekend. “He thinks Fanney Khan is an entertaining film, People spend money because they want entertainment and entertainment is not just action. It can be anything. So, this is purely an entertainment film”. He also feels music differentiates Indian cinema from the rest of the film industries on an international platform and Fanney khan’s Songs like ‘Tera Jaisa Main hun’ and ‘Achche Din’ are the ones that will stay with you even after 50 years from now.


At last, Rajkummar Rao also added, “I think the story, characters and the way the film is made is phenomenal. I am very proud of the film and the way Atul has handled the story is amazing. The story of the movie is so sweet and also talks about so many other things like body shaming, aspirations, and dreams but in a light-hearted and humorous way”.
